Impact Knockouts World Champion Mickie James is all set to appear in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. James is expected to wear her championship belt to the ring. This is certainly big news because WWE rarely open their doors to non-contracted performers.
Impact is doing everything they can to promote Mickie James appearing in the event. WWE, on the other hand, not so much. The internet wrestling community, of course, finds the whole situation hilarious.
Fans on Twitter are pointing out that WWE is refusing to give Impact love on social media ahead of Royal Rumble. The promotion even posted videos of talents including Matthew Rehwold and Deonna Purrazzo promoting the rumble event.
“People really thought WWE would do more for IMPACT then AEW lol,” one user said. “I imagine Impact is seen as ‘peasantry’ in the eyes of the WWE business model. To be exploited and discarded at a moment’s notice,” another one noted.
The 35th annual Royal Rumble emanates from America’s Center The Dome. In addition to Mickie James, former WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool and Hall of Famer Lita will participate in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
