John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. Since 2017, John Cena became a part-timer in WWE and has appeared sporadically due to his busy schedule in Hollywood. It seems Becky Lynch opened up about her first interaction with John Cena.
On the other hand, Becky Lynch has been on a roll after returning to action after over a year at WWE SummerSlam last year. She went on to defeat Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and then became the RAW Women’s Champion.
Becky Lynch made a name for herself in the independent scene and then NXT before being called up to the main roster. While speaking on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, Becky Lynch revealed that John Cena once asked him who she was as he had no idea whatsoever despite Lynch already being a well-known name.
“I used to always ask John Cena for advice. And when I asked him, he said, “I don’t know who you are,” He was like, “Who are you?” And I said, “Well, yeah I’m Becky.” Like, but they know who I am, obviously I really would never say this to him, but they know who I am, they are always chanting my name.
But, he was right. I didn’t know who I was. I really did not know, apart from being Becky. The Irish Lasskicker. What the hell was The Irish Lasskicker, because I would always get my lass kicked. So I didn’t know, and I didn’t really have an identity, I was searching for that, and I was the little scrappy underdog from Ireland, but it genuinley was not something that could be immediately establishable.”
Becky Lynch is currently to set defend her title against Douodrp at the Royal Rumble event. We will have to wait and see whether she will be able to retain her title or not.
