Ronda Rousey’s Royal Rumble Return Looking Even More Likely

Ronda Rousey has been generating a lot of buzz in the lead up to the WWE Royal Rumble. WWE officials flew to California to meet with the former MMA star and Rousey merch has been spotted at WWE headquarters. All signs point to the Rowdy one being in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

The company has big plans for Ronda Rousey in the near future. Rousey is set for something at WrestleMania. A Royal Rumble appearance would be the perfect way to set the grandest stage of them all for Ronda’s return.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer spoke about what Ronda Rousey might have in store as she prepares to return to WWE. Ronda has been training for a return to pro wrestling for a while. The Royal Rumble appears to be the place, although nothing is confirmed.

“Rousey’s name was first reported this week on Fightful. Since then this much has been confirmed to us. First, Rousey has been back training for pro wrestling. Second, she will be returning this year and she is under contract with WWE.

Her original deal was up, but either a new deal was put together or WWE froze her three-year deal since she really only worked the first year and a few months of it. There have been WrestleMania plans that include Becky Lynch vs. Rousey that have been discussed internally. We have not confirmed her for the Rumble, but PWInsider did report her make-up woman is booked for both the Rumble in St. Louis and Raw two days later in Cincinnati.”

The WWE Universe always gets hyped up for the potential for big returns at the Royal Rumble. Ronda Rousey would be one major step towards satisfying that itch. We’ll find out more in just a short time as the Rumble takes place Saturday, January 29, on Peacock.
