WWE Planning Several NXT Stars To Be At Royal Rumble

The WWE Royal Rumble brings with it a sense of anticipation that no other wrestling event can. The WWE Universe is always excited to see if there will be any unexpected Rumble entries or NXT call ups. This year’s edition has some extra flair.

WWE brought in Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James for the women’s Royal Rumble. It’s been reported that there will be at least one big surprise. Several names from NXT have also been thrown around as guesses for the Rumble matches.

There will be multiple NXT wrestlers at the Royal Rumble. Whether they are in the match or on hand as alternates in case of COVID problems remains to be seen. Dave Meltzer discussed some names on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.

“I don’t know if they’re gonna be in the Rumble, but I do know that several NXT men and women are scheduled to be there. I don’t know if they are there to be in the Rumble or there to be alternates. Because, if they have 30 people in the Rumble, you better, in this day in and age, have three alternates. Because somebody’s… There’s a good chance that several people will be sick come the day of the show.

I know, like, Bron Breakker and Gunther are going and probably are in the Rumble. I don’t know the women. I believe Raquel Gonzalez. But, I think a couple of the women are supposed to go there and probably be in the Rumble. Because they… Getting 30 women is not easy.”

WWE has even reached out to former superstars that were recently fired due to the shortage of women. The Iinspiration turned down an offer to take part in the match. We’ll find out this weekend if there are any further Royal Rumble surprises.
