Doudrop is one of the mainstays in WWE women’s division. The former Viper signed with the company in 2019 and debuted for NXT UK under the ring name Piper Niven.
She had her first televised match for the brand at WWE World’s Collide. Niven went on to compete in several high-profile matches, including a triple threat for the NXT UK Women’s Championship.
Niven joined RAW in June of 2021. She appeared on the red brand under the ring name Doudrop. She was one of the finalists in the inaugural Queen Crown’s tournament but lost to Zelina Vega.
The 30-year-old is set for a title match against RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch; a match she says has been 15 years in the making. “I don’t know if people know this, but I’ve been waiting 15 years for this match,” she told TalkSport.
“Way back when I first started training in a little warehouse in Linwood, Scotland, there really wasn’t many experienced girls in the UK wrestling scene at all. There was me, Nikki Storm – who had also just started out – down in England we had Mischief and Erin Angel and then over in Ireland we had Miss Rebecca Knox.
“We were very aware of Becky at the time. Even back then she was at the top of her game. She was the girl our trainers were trying to get in and have matches with us so we could learn from her, get some kind of experience.
“But, sadly, unbeknownst to us at the time, she was just packing up things there to move over to the U.S. We made efforts to get her over but it just didn’t work out. So 15 long years later, here we are. It’s one big ass circle to go in, but we got there.”
The two are set to collide Jan. 30th at the Royal Rumble PPV. Doudrop earned the title shot after defeating Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair in a triple threat match at the January 10th edition of Monday Night RAW. Check out the video below:
