Hook’s Insane Rise In AEW Compared To Goldberg

Hook, who is the son of AEW commentator and former ECW and WWE star Taz, has been featured on AEW television as the silent enforcer of Team Taz. Many fans never thought he would ever wrestle. It seems Hook was compared to a WWE Hall Of Famer recently.

Hook impressed many fans in his in-ring debut. His debut did massive numbers on social media and racked up larger numbers than even Bron Breakker’s did. AEW held off his debut for a good reason as well.

Since then he has competed in three more matches and has performed well in all of them. He was especially dominant during this week’s episode of AEW Rampage, where he made short work of Serpentico.

While speaking on Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell and Bill Apter talked about Hook’s insane rise in AEW. Apter compared Hook to Goldberg and even gave him a nickname for good measure.

“They did the right thing with Hook tonight too. Short and aggressive on his match against Serpentico and made it better. All that stuff was going everywhere, and he was around Hook, and it made it look like it was out of control, and it was, but it looked good.

He is genuinely becoming like Goldberg, he is Hookberg.”

We will have to wait and see what the company has in store for Hook as AEW is certainly grooming Hook for bigger things in the future from the looks of it.
