Roppongi Vice was set to reunite on American soil on tonight’s AEW Rampage. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero were scheduled for a tag match with The Young Bucks that was made on Wednesday’s Dynamite. Tony Khan has announced a change to that matchup.

Rocky Romero recently tested positive for COVID-19. That means the bout will not be able to take place as scheduled. Instead, Tony Khan has made a singles match in its place.

Khan broke the news on Busted Open Radio. After Rocky’s announcement of a positive test, Romero has been pulled and the match will now be between Nick Jackson and Trent.

The wrestling industry has been hit hard by the recent wave of the fast-spreading Omicron variant of the pandemic virus. WWE underwent a period of turmoil in late 2021 as COVID took several wrestlers out of the lineup. Never has the phrase “Card subject to change,” been more relevant.
