Jon Moxley returned to AEW at Wednesday’s Dynamite and immediately made a huge splash. The former world champion recently took a hiatus to deal with an alcohol problem. Mox is back now, and he wasn’t holding anything back in his first promo.
Moxley was being heckled by a fan at ringside after he made his entrance. The fan was reported to have made a comment about Jon’s drinking issues. Moxley dropped an f-bomb as he asked seccurity to remove the person from the audience.
AEW Dynamite airs on tape delay on the west coast of the United States and in Canada. TBS was so unhappy with the profanity that Moxley’s promo was edited for those viewers. In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discussed the fact that WWE used to claim that they couldn’t do that.
“Regarding using the F*** word, that’s not supposed to be allowed on TBS. They went so far to edit it off the West Coast replay and TSN in Canada also edited it off. For years WWE had claimed such a thing was impossible when there was something that ended up tasteless on the live show which never made sense.”
Jon Moxley will make his in-ring return on this week’s AEW Rampage. Mox is scheduled to take on All Ego Ethan Page. This will be AEW’s first live Rampage broadcast of 2022.
Mox said the only thing he’s drinking from now on is blood. AEW fans are excited to see one of the most popular stars in the company get back into the ring. Jon is looking fit and ready for a fight. It might be a long night for Ethan Page.
