Eddie Kingston has emerged as one of the surprise stars of All Elite Wrestling. A career spent traveling the independent circuit finally culminated when Tony Khan signed Kingston to AEW. Eddie’s momentum was recently slowed when The Mad King suffered an injury at a GCW event.
Kingston suffered an undisclosed injury that Khan announced at this weekend’s AEW Dark tapings. Fans weren’t sure about a timetable for his return. We now have some idea of when Eddie Kingston will make his return to the ring.
Eddie’s injury was discussed on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. Dave Meltzer said he has it direct from Kingston that he’s hoping to be back in three weeks. Things could change, but that is what Eddie is shooting for.
“Kingston should be about three weeks. Hopefully three weeks, I guess is the best way to put it. I don’t want to give a timetable because I don’t know that anyone knows. But, he’s hoping for three weeks and then back.”
CM Punk’s feud with Eddie Kingston served to greatly elevate the New York Native. The return of Jon Moxley could also spark a lot of potential for new storylines for Eddie. There’s a lot of unfinished business for him in AEW.
Kingston was expected to appear at the upcoming GCW “The Wrld On GCW” pay-per-view from the Hammerstein Ballroom in his hometown of New York City. That will not be able to take place due to the injury. Eddie Kingston is hoping to be back soon to address ongoing issues with AJ Gray in GCW and Chris Jericho in AEW.
