Many consider Triple H a legend in the pro wrestling world and is one of the most important figures in the company’s history. He was an integral part of the Attitude Era. His career spanned several World Title reigns and memorable moments throughout the years.

Triple H is also infamous for burying fellow pro wrestlers and there are multiple instances of that taking place, even as early as his DX days. It was said that he even refused to put over D’Lo Brown during an important feud.

Triple H would put over John Cena in their feud back in 2006, especially at WrestleMania 22. Cena would remain the face of the company for the next decade after that.

While speaking on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Freddie Prinze Jr. talked about John Cena and how he became the face of the company. He explained why Triple H never became the face of the company instead of John Cena.

“Other guys could have taken it. Triple H could have worn that crown but Triple H had no intention of doing segments in the first hour of RAW when it was still family friendly. He wanted to be in the last hour of SmackDown or RAW and do his DX, adult stuff – the stuff that got him over, the stuff that he always did once he found the right character. So, he could have taken the crown, Vince McMahon would have gladly given it to him, but he chose not to. John Cena took this on himself.”

It was also said that Triple H is unlikely to ever wrestle again. Triple H’s cardiac event was also said to have been very, very, very serious. We will have to wait and see when The King Of Kings will make his return to the company as it is unlikely he will ever leave WWE.
