WALTER had been a dominant force in WWE ever since he made his debut back in January 2019. WALTER is also the longest-reigning champion in modern WWE. Many WWE Superstars want a piece of him.

Many fans were concerned after it was revealed WWE copyrighted the name Gunther Stark, as it was related to someone who actually served on one of Hitler’s U-Boats. Unfortunately, their worst fears were confirmed recently.

On this weeks episode of NXT 2.0, WALTER squared off against Roderick Strong in a singles match. After defeating Strong, WALTER revealed that he is now called Gunther, much to the dismay of fans.

Former WWE Superstar Keith Lee, who also had a questionable name change before his release, took to Twitter and revealed that he simply feels sorry for WALTER.

Man….if what I’m hearing is real…. Poor Walter.

We will have to wait and see how Gunther will be booked from now on, as the name change might have effectively ended his run on NXT 2.0 before it began.
