Big E truly had a long and difficult road to the top of WWE. After a solid run on NXT, he was called up to the main roster but was eventually lost in the shuffle. It seems Kofi Kingston commented on Big E’s recent negative comments.
At the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, Big E defended his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. To the shock of many, Brock Lesnar pinned Big E after hitting an F5 and won the match, thereby becoming the new WWE Champion.
Many fans felt Big E’s first reign as the WWE Champion left much to be desired as fans wanted better for him. Big E even previously admitted he wasn’t happy with his WWE Championship run.
While speaking on Rick Ucchino’s Pro Wrestling podcast, Kofi Kingston talked about Big E’s recent negative comments towards his own WWE Championship reign. Kingston felt that Big E is his own biggest critic.
“I thought he did great. We are always the biggest critics of ourselves. We have always taken pride in holding ourselves to the highest standard – Myself, Woods and E. To be honest, I was not surprised whatsoever to see some of the negative things that he had said about the way things went. Big E gave what he felt was an honest look at his time.”
Big E was also the favorite to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match this year. We will have to wait and see whether Big E will end up winning the Royal Rumble and getting the WrestleMania moment he has always wanted.
