There is no doubt that Mickie James has established herself as one of the best female pro wrestlers in the history of the business. Jame was released by WWE back in April last year and then she promptly made her way to NWA and then Impact Wrestling. It seems James opened up about whether AEW contacted her or not.
Mickie James would go on to become the Knockouts Champion as well. Mickie James is set to compete at the Women’s Royal Rumble match, which truly shocked fans as they never expected WWE to ever acknowledge her title reign either.
Having worked in so many different promotions, many fans have also wondered whether James would make her way to AEW as well in the future. While speaking with Ariel Helwani, Mickie James talked about whether AEW contacted her or not. James revealed that AEW has yet to contact her for a possible program.
“I never was like, technically reached out by AEW. I think they all knew that I was going to work with my husband at NWA. And I really wanted to do this women’s show. (…) My history with Impact too. (…) even with Empowerrr, I was able to kind of bridge some of those gaps and make relationships happen.”
WWE and Impact Wrestling managed to work out a deal for Mickie James’ appearance at the Women’s Royal Rumble match. It remains to be seen whether James will appear in AEW one day or not.
