Matt Cardona Crowns Himself ECW Television Champion At GCW Most Notorious

Matt Cardona and deathmatch legend Nick Gage found themselves in a feud a few months ago. Many fans believed Cardona didn’t have what it takes to face off against Nick Gage. It seems Cardona seemingly won a title during a recent event.

Cardona has had a phenomenal 2021 as he became one of the biggest names in the independent circuit after getting released by WWE earlier that year.

Cardona and Chelsea Green ‘quit’ GCW during GCW’s Blood on the Hills event last month as well. They would make their return shortly afterwards and since then Matt Cardona got embroiled in a feud with Rhino.

At GCW Most Notorious on January 14, Cardona squared off against Rhino in a singles match. Before the match started, Matt Cardona proclaimed that when he pinned Rhino, he would be the new ECW Television Champion.

After an intense match that featured table spots and belt shots, Matt Cardona ended up winning the match under unceremonious means. it led to him then proclaiming himself as the new ECW Television Champion.

Cardona is also set to square off against Joey Janela at GCW’s sold-out Hammerstein Ballroom show, The WRLD on GCW, on January 23. We will have to wait and see whether he will defeat Joey Janela or not as the two have been engaged in a very bitter feud in the past couple of weeks.
