Hikaru Shida Officially Leaves For Japan

Hikaru Shida was scheduled to return home to Japan sometime this winter. The angle on last week’s AEW Dynamite where Serena Deeb destroyed Shida’s knee allowed her to take some time off television. Shida is nursing a knee injury suffered at the hands of Serena after a pre-match attack with a kendo stick.

It was reported that Shida would be leaving for Japan soon. This morning, she confirmed that she was on her way. An airport selfie showed the AEW star waiting for her flight.

“Time to leave. 日本へ。”

Shida had been feuding with Deeb for a long time. The rivals had some fierce back and forth fights. Serena ultimately helped to write Hikaru Shida off of television when she jumped her before the bell.

Hikaru Shida has been a staple of the AEW women’s division. Shida carried the title through the worst days of the COVID-19 pandemic. A big thank you is owed by AEW fans for her hard work in the ring.

We’re wishing Hikaru Shida nothing but safe travels, rest, and relaxation. The AEW women’s division will still be here when she’s ready to return. Hikaru Shida will be reinvigorated and refocused.
