Arturo Ruas did not have a long list of achievements during his run in NXT. Ruas was released by WWE last summer. Though talented, Ruas did not have a chance to shine in NXT.
The wrestler worked an AEW Dark match in October under the new name of Tiger Ruas. The 40-year-old star is looking to land somewhere for one big run. The answer might lie in Japan.
Tiger Ruas recently spoke to the All Real Wrestling podcast. Ruas noted that he has talked to Impact. New Japan Pro Wrestling is also on the list.
“Yes, I am actually talking to New Japan, and talking to another company soon like IMPACT too and it’s just talk for now. I wanna be, as I said, in the mix and I believe those companies, they have the top athletes.
IMPACT, New Japan, MLW and I know that those companies, they have in their tops, the best athletes and I want to be one of them so, I am a free agent. I am negotiating with the companies. I’m talking to them and I’m just waiting to (find an) opening, the best place to be but, let’s see.
Let’s see the next chapter. I’m very positive to be (in a promotion) soon enough and one of them, signed.”
Tiger Ruas was a well-versed amateur wrestler before his time with WWE. Ruas finished fourth at the 2011 Pan-Am Games. That international experience could come in handy if Tiger takes to Japan.
