Chris Jericho’s contributions as a pro wrestler need no introduction. He has competed in various promotions all around the globe for three decades. Jericho is also proud to be working in AEW and isn’t afraid to show it
On the other hand, the Young Bucks are truly geniuses as far as the business side of pro wrestling is concerned because they continue to sell a lot of merchandise. They have cashed in on a variety of incidents over the years, especially involving WWE.
It was previously said that The Young Bucks signed a 5-year contract extension with AEW, meaning that they would stick with the company till 2026 at least. However, the tag team clarified that they are signed to the company till 2024.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the contracts of every original star who had signed with AEW in 2019 has already expired. However, it was said that the company might have already renewed the contracts for the likes of Chris Jericho, The Young Bucks, The Elite and more despite not making any announcement regarding that fact.
AEW didn’t make any announcement of this but the original three-year deals of all the people who were there at the start, which would be Young Bucks, Cody & Brandi Rhodes, Adam Page, Chris Jericho and some others would have expired by now. Some of the others like Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky would have expired in a few weeks.
The Young Bucks publicly noted that their option years were picked and per the original deal got a raise for two more years. Some of them already signed new deals, notably Scorpio Sky who last year signed a five-year new deal. But obviously Page, Cody & Brandi and Jericho were renewed since they were either on TV this week or confirmed as staying.
It was also said that Kenny Omega had signed a 4 year deal in 2019, so there is no question of him re-signing with the company until 2023. It is likely all the aforementioned stars will be staying with AEW for the next few years.
