Tony Khan loves a huge surprise. The AEW owner has given fans plenty of them since the inception of the company in 2019. Tonight, Khan is teasing yet another one.
Khan took to Twitter to run down tonight’s AEW Dynamite. Khan put over several key matches and thanked the fans for a successful debut on TBS. Tony also teased a surprise for the show.
“It’s Wednesday, you know what that means: Wednesday Night #AEWDymamite TONIGHT on @TBSNetwork! You stepped up for us last week; thanks to your support we had a huge debut on TBS, & we’re back TONIGHT @ 8pm ET/7pm CT/8pm PT with big matches, big moments + maybe a surprise for you!”
Any time Tony Khan offers fans a surprise, speculation runs wild. The most likely guess would be Jon Moxley, who is scheduled to wrestle for GCW later this month. AEW would probably prefer to bring him back on television first. Moxley took a hiatus from wrestling to deal with an alcohol abuse issue.
There are plenty of other wild theories being thrown around. Some of them make more sense than others. Bray Wyatt or an invader from Ring of Honor have gained some traction. If Johnny Gargano were debuting, it would make a lot more sense to have him do it in his hometown of Cleveland, where AEW is holding the upcoming Beach Break.
Fans will have to tune in tonight on TBS to see what Tony Khan’s surprise really is. AEW viewers will have their eyes peeled for something big. Tonight could mark a huge return or debut for the company.
