Renee Paquette worked with WWE for eight years until she parted ways with the company back in the Summer of 2020. She left the company after FOX’s WWE Backstage show was cancelled. It seems she isn’t a fan of how WWE has handled their Royal Rumble surprise entrants.
Since then Paquette has kept herself busy with numerous projects, both personal and professional. She experienced a lot of things while working in WWE and is also aware of how the current WWE product is.
It was announced on last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown that the likes of Summer Rae, Mickie James, Lita and others will be making their appearance during the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
While speaking to Tom Hannifan on her Oral Sessions podcast, Renee Paquette admitted that she is not a fan of WWE announcing the surprise entrants for the Royal Rumble in advance.
“Stop announcing them. I genuinely hate that. I am that Summer Rae’s return was announced beforehand. Even Mickie James, that one’s a huge one. If she came out and her music hit, I would have been like, ‘Holy s***.’ But Summer has not been a part of any WWE event since she left, so to hear her music hit would have genuinely shocked me.”
Summer Rae also recently revealed that her Royal Rumble appearance was supposed to be a secret. We will have to wait and see whether WWE will have more surprise entrants in store for the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
