Brock Lesnar was absent from WWE television after dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. That changed at WWE SummerSlam last year, where he made his shocking return to WWE television and confronted Roman Reigns. Brock officially came back as a babyface, much to the delight of fans.
At the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship after defeating Big E, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley. It seems he has now tied with two WWE legends for a huge record.
Fans have certainly been enjoying Lesnar’s current character as it is more laid back and enthusiastic. They especially loved Lesnar’s on-screen segments with Sami Zayn on Friday Night Smackdown.
While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff talked about Brock Lesnar’s current run as a babyface champion. Bischoff bragged that his previous comments were the reason behind Lesnar’s drastic change in character.
“One of the things I said about Brock coming back to WWE this most recent time is if I don’t see something I haven’t seen before out of Brock as a performer, as a character, it’s going to bore me.
Now, fortunately, WWE, because they listen to this show and they are indeed enlightened, as many of the listeners here are, took note of my commentary. And what do we see? We are seeing a different aspect of Brock Lesnar’s character.”
Brock Lesnar is set to defend his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 29th this year. We will have to wait and see who will end up winning the match.
