WWE RAW opens with a look back at last week’s main event where Bobby Lashley became the number one contender to the WWE Championship. Speaking of which, the WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, makes his way to the ring. Bobby Lashley and MVP are watching on a monitor backstage when Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander come up and congratulate them. Lashley tells them to get the Hell away from him because The Hurt Business is done, he works alone.
Paul Heyman introduces Brock and the Champion says he loves it. Brock shouts out Philadelphia but gets interrupted by Lashley and MVP. The duo come to the ring and MVP introduces the All Mighty. Lashley says it’s an honor to be in the ring with Lashley and share the spotlight. And, as one super-athlete to another, it’s an honor to look him in the eye and tell him that, for twenty years, Lesnar has been running from him.
Brock says with all due respect, it’s an honor for him to be in the ring with himself. He says he’s been winning Championship’s all over the world for twenty years, so that’s on Bobby. He didn’t really know who he was until Day 1. If Lashley had stepped up his game they may have been in a ring together sooner. Lesnar compliments their clothes and Lashley pretends to laugh. Lashley says he can be a comedian after he loses at the Royal Rumble.
Brock says he’s funny and he’s money, then proceeds to tell a knock-knock joke that actually made the crowd pop. Lesnar says it’s impossible to beat Brock Lesnar, especially when you’re a rip-off version of The Beast. Lesnar literally drops the mic and leaves with Heyman. Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin attack Lashley from behind but Bobby quickly knocks Shelton out of the ring, then spinebusters Cedric. Lashley goes outside and runs Benjamin into the ring post, then tosses Alexander into the barricade.
Riddle and Randy Orton are backstage. Orton says they lost last week because Riddle didn’t tag him in. Well tonight they get a second shot but the stakes are higher because the titles are on the line against an Olympian and a tree trunk. Orton writes on Riddle’s hands “tag in Randy” in case he gets lost. Riddle asks if they can get some Philly cheesesteaks after the show.

Orton rolls-up Gable but let’s go and looks for an RKO but gets shoved into a powerslam from Otis…and the pinfall!
Damian Priest cut a promo backstage in which he said last year he debuted in the Royal Rumble and showed the world what he’s all about. So how does he top that? By winning the whole damn thing and going to WrestleMania to become a World Champion as well.
The Street Profits join Priest backstage and he reminds them that it’s every man for himself at the Rumble, but tonight he’s glad they have his back. The Profits say they got him in the city of brotherly love, then ask if he’s going to partake in the solo cup party? Priest says of course he will and asks if they’re down to give the Dirty Dawgs a final beat down? Of course they are.

Montez Ford starts with Ziggler and gets beat around the ring until he avoids a splash and tags Priest. Damian runs wild over Ziggler and htis him with a flapjack, then Roode runs in and eats a few shots and a leg lariat. The Visionary, brother vs. brother. He says we may be wondering how he got this match but he doesn’t need a Penguin-looking snake oil salesman to do his work for him. He says he beats Roman Reigns every singe time.
Big E comes out and says this is incredible news, he’s thrilled for Rollins. You see he’s entering the Royal Rumble match and not a lot makes him more excited than doing what he didn’t get to do at Day 1: beat Seth Rollins one-on-one. Only this time he can do it at WrestleMania. Seth laughs at him and says he doesn’t care where it is, Big E could never beat him. Big E says they should test that theory out tonight and Rollins makes excuses. Big E says forget about that, let’s do it right now. Rollins accepts.

Rhea says, if she’d let her finish, she was going to say they’re not.
Ripley says they can talk about it another time but Nikki says no, talk about it now. Ripley says they’ve had a good run but maybe it’s time to go their separate ways. Nikki asks if it’s her fault for getting pinned? She believes they can get the belts back. Ripley says it’s not about the belts. Nikki asks if Ripley thinks she’s better than her but Rhea denies it. Nikki asks if Rhea’s ever considered the fact that she stayed for her own good? Has she ever considered that one of them stayed despite the other being better?
Ripley says she’s never said she was a better wrestler but Nikki says she meant herself. Rhea turns to leave and says let’s just let it go but Nikki asks her if she still believes in her? Ripley says she always has and she always will, she just hopes Nikki believes in herself and they can remain friends. Nikki looks sad and asks if she really means that. Ripley hugs her and Nikki goes to pose on the ropes. Rhea holds out a fist for a bump but Nikki attacks her! Nikki punches and kicks Ripley over-and-over before leaving with a smile on her face.

WWE Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix, makes her way to the ring and sits opposite her husband. Edge says he and Beth have lived a lot of life together and they’re got two beautiful kids, but he feels the need to remind the fans just how much ass his wife kickd.
Together they’ve accumulated 35 titles and they’re the only couple in the WWE Hall of Fame. But more than that she’s a recking machine and he sends us to a video package highlighting Beth’s incredible career. Edge says he’s very proud and hands her the floor. Beth says she doesn’t know if Edge is just trying to butter her up for tonight but flattery will get him everywhere. Edge laughs and pulls his collar out. Beth says that video just gives people a glimpse of what she’s got in store for Maryse. The endless diatribe of diarrhea that comes from those two has got to stop.
The Miz and Maryse come out to the stage and Miz insults the fans and the sports teams. Miz says he knew Edge and Phoenix would come out and slander them but he wants Edge to remember that he had him beat until Edge brought Beth into things. What kind of man does that? Edge says that’s rich coming from Miz, who used his wife as a human shielf. Miz shouts “slander!”, then says he knew Edge were putting a video package together for Beth, so he’s got one for Maryse.
The fans boo after Maryse’s video airs. Miz asks if they realise how much of a star she is? How lucky they are to see her in person? Miz says Edge and Beth should be honored to even be in the same ring as her. Edge says Maryse is a former Champion, proved everyone wrong the same as Miz, they respect her, but his wife can deadlift a Buick. Beth smashes things, mostly people, and he’d be as scared as Maryse to step in the ring with her.
Beth says Maryse has been interfering in Edge’s matches when she knew she wasn’t there, yet now Maryse is a church mouse. Unfortunately the time for apologies is gone. At Royal Rumble she’s going to wreck Maryse and the fans will be chanting “au revoir”. Miz gets riled-up and tells Maryse to let Beth know how much she’s going to destroy and humiliate Beth. While he’s ranting, Maryse walks away. Beth says if Maryse is too afraid to show-up, then she’ll take great pleasure in knocking his teeth in.
