Big E’s journey to the top of WWE has been one full of hurdles and obstacles at every step of the way. After a solid run in NXT, Big E made his way to the main roster but was eventually lost in the shuffle. It seems Booker T has an interesting take on Big E’s pro wrestling future.

At the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, Big E defended his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. To the shock of many, Brock Lesnar pinned Big E after hitting an F5 and won the match, thereby becoming the new WWE Champion.

Many fans felt Big E’s first reign as the WWE Champion left much to be desired as fans wanted better for him. While speaking on “Reality of Wrestling”, Booker T talked about Big E’s reign as WWE Champion.

Booker T stated that the title reign made Big E a better performer and it reflected in his character as well. Booker T also added that he believes Big E might not always stay in WWE.

“I thought Big E had a good run and I thought the championship made him better. It was almost one of those things where I always say that when you win the title, it makes you a better performer, normally, just because you know that you’re the World Heavyweight Champion. You walk a different way. You feel a different way. I don’t know what it is, but that effect definitely got a hold of Big E, and you can see him falling into that role as being the champion. He believed he should have been the champion.”

I thought he did a great job. We didn’t get a chance to see Big E have a whole lot of classic matches as champion or anything like that, but I think that’s where Big E has a chance to come back and capture it again and grow. I think Big E is going to be in this business for at least 5 to perhaps 8-10 more years, maybe, in this business, not the WWE, but in the business. He has a chance to grow over this time and become the performer he wants to be.”

Big E was also the favorite to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match this year. We will have to wait and see whether Big E will end up winning the Royal Rumble and getting the WrestleMania moment he has always wanted.
