There is no doubt that Sasha Banks is one of the best female Superstars to have ever stepped foot inside a WWE ring, She has worked hard to get to where she is now and her momentum is rarely halted. It seems WWE was aware she was going to be out of action long before the recent announcement.
As reported earlier, Sasha Banks will be out of action for 6 to 8 weeks after she injured her leg while wrestling Charlotte Flair at a recent live event. Due to her injury, Sasha Banks will be missing out on the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
According to Fightful Select, WWE Creative was aware that Sasha Banks was not going to be available as early as January 3rd. Creative was also told to plan with Sasha Banks’ absence in mind.
Fightful Select learned that although the absence was announced Saturday, WWE creative were pretty clear in that Banks wouldn’t be available as early as January 3, after the injury occurred that prior weekend. Leading into that Raw, Fightful was told that Sasha Banks wasn’t expected for the Royal Rumble, and that creatively the company should plan accordingly. As it turns out, Banks is expected to be out 6-8 weeks. As the timetable indicates, she’s not expected to have to miss WrestleMania, and that has been relayed to people of influence in the company, as well.
Sasha Banks also recently sent a warning to the WWE Women’s locker room following her injury announcement. With her returning just before WrestleMania 38, it remains to be seen what the company will have planned for her once she returns.
