Adam Page became one of the mainstays of AEW television thanks to his relatable character work. He has been around the pro wrestling world for a while now but only now has found huge success in the business. It seems he has an interesting origin behind his name.

Page, whose real name is Stephen Blake Woltz, put together his ring name in a very interesting way from the looks of it. This all came from his real-life experiences as well.

While speaking with Virginia Tech, the AEW World Champion talked about the origins of his ring name. Page revealed that he combined two names, which were that of his real-life best friend and of Jimmy Page, the lead guitarist of Led Zepplin.

“I was trying to come up with a fake wrestling name when I was younger and just mashed together a bunch of names. I ended up with Adam, the first name of my ACW foe and real-life best friend, and Page from Jimmy Page, guitarist of Led Zeppelin with whom I was obsessed as a teenager. Hangman came a bit later when New Japan told me that would be my name to fill the role of then-departing Luke Gallows.”

Fans are certainly enjoying Adam Page’s current run as the AEW World Champion and that is what matters in the end. It remains to be seen what is next in store for Adam Page now that his feud with Bryan Danielson is over.
