Big E truly had a long and difficult road to the top of WWE. After a solid run on NXT, he was called up to the main roster but was eventually lost in the shuffle. It seems WWE still has plans for Big E.

At the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, Big E defended his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. To the shock of many, Brock Lesnar pinned Big E after hitting an F5 and won the match, thereby becoming the new WWE Champion.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE Championship match will headline one night of WrestleMania. It was also said that Big E is the current favorite to win the Royal Rumble match and end in a program with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.

”Because there are two nights of WrestleMania, they need a WWE title match to headline the other show. The plan for that was originally Seth Rollins, likely against the winner of the Royal Rumble, with Big E the favorite, but Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley were also possibilities. The match in that position may remain the same, but getting there is different.”

We will have to wait and see whether Big E will end up winning the Royal Rumble and getting the WrestleMania moment he has always wanted.
