WWE has been hell-bent on releasing as many talents and members of staff as possible over the past couple of years. It all began with the company’s mass exodus back in April 2020 and it continued from there. The company released over 80 talents in 2021 as well.

The company stated 2022 in the only way they knew how and released numerous talents and members of staff from their contracts. This included veteran Road Dogg, who had a huge backstage role in the company.

According to Fightful, Road Dogg’s release was seen as changing direction from the old version of NXT. It was also said that Dogg was a key member of Triple H’s team.

As for Road Dogg, he was seen as a key “Triple H guy,” and along with Regal, was one of the most evident firings that pointed everyone to the notion that this was specifically moving people out to change directions from what NXT “was.”

We will have to see what Road Dogg will do next. With his experience and knowledge of the pro wrestling world, it won’t be difficult for him to find another job elsewhere.
