After Eric Bischoff was removed from his role as Executive Producer of Friday Night Smackdown and Paul Heyman for the same role on Monday Night RAW, Bruce Prichard took over the roles for both brands. It seems he opened up about his absence as well.
Ringside News was exclusively first to report that Bruce Prichard was absent from multiple television tapings recently. In his place, Ed Koskey has been holding down the fort.
While speaking on his podcast, WWE Executive Bruce Prichard talked about the real reason behind his absence. Prichard revealed that he was on vacation with his family when he fell sick.
“To address some of the rumor and innuendo, which is complete horsesh** out there in the wrestling media if you will. This year, I took a vacation at a time when we did not have two SmackDowns in a row. We pre-recorded, and we had a count show. So there was no TV to go to in general. So I had my vacation tied up during that time where it looked like, ‘Hey, man, Bruce hasn’t been in here in like, oh my god! Three TVs!’ And then I contracted the flu. I was running a fever and not feeling well. We have a solid team and an incredible sports system and team that was there. I missed three TVs.”
With Bruce Prichard back in the saddle, it remains to be seen how the company will be performing in the coming weeks, especially with their latest slew of releases.
