AEW has been forced to figure out how to tell their stories on television without key members of their roster before. Now one of their EVPs is out of commission. The COVID-19 pandemic took over the entire world last year and affected several industries all over the world. This included the pro wrestling business, which was severely affected by the pandemic. Several pro wrestlers tested positive for the virus and it resulted in numerous shows being postponed as well.
Several pro wrestlers tested positive for the virus and it resulted in numerous shows being cancelled as well. Both WWE and AEW dealt with numerous COVID-19 cases last year and the risk of an infection is still likely.
Both WWE and AEW have different ways of handling a positive COVID-19 case as well. WWE has stopped testing all of their talents on a weekly basis for the virus, but AEW still tests their talents.
Despite all the testing, the likelihood of COVID-19 is still apparent. The Young Bucks took to their Twitter bio and revealed that Matt Jackson tested positive for COVID-19.
“Loyal to a fault, but sometimes have to make executive decisions. Always book ourselves strong. Our future grandkids are set for life. Matt has covid.”
Matt Jackson last competed on the December 17th edition of AEW Rampage, which was taped on December 15th. Last year, Nick Jackson had revealed he tested positive for COVID-19 back in September 2020 as well. We will have to wait and see what Matt Jackson will be able to make his AEW television return.
