Cody Rhodes is one of the mainstays of AEW television and an integral part of the company behind the scenes as well. Rhodes has certainly honed his craft over the years in numerous ways. It seems he recently reacted to fans booing him a well.
For the past few months, Cody Rhodes has been on the receiving end of a lot of hate from fans. Fans showered boos on him during every appearance and called fir ohm to turn heel.
Fans simply couldn’t stand Cody Rhodes after he won the TNT Championship from Sammy Guevara during the Christmas edition of AEW Rampage. Fans continue to voice their disdain towards Cody Rhodes as well.
While speaking with PWInsider, Cody Rhodes talked about being booed constantly by fans. Rhodes admitted that he does find the boos jarring as he used to be a fan favorite during the early years of AEW.
“I’m always of the idea that you can’t judge your audience. They pay their money and can do whatever they would like, that’s one of the most beautiful things about it. We don’t have to turn down the boos or turn up the cheers. We have to let it be. It can be jarring, I’ll be frank. It can be jarring to go from this wrestling Messiah in the first year and doing no wrong to now three years in and people want to see you lose.”
We will have to wait and see if AEW will finally pull the trigger and make Cody Rhodes a heel once and for all, now that he is the TNT Champion. He is also set to defend his TNT Title against Sammy Guevara at the Battle Of The Belts event on January 8th. It remains to be seen whether he will successfully retain his title or not.
