Big E truly had a long and difficult road to the top of WWE. After a solid run on NXT, he was called up to the main roster but was eventually lost in the shuffle. It seems there is proof for one of WWE’s changed plans recently.

Big E is also part of the New Day, who remain one of the best tag teams in pro wrestling history. When the New Day made their debut as a group, they were initially heels but were eventually turned into babyfaces due to their rise in popularity.

At the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, Big E defended his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. In the end, Brock Lesnar defeated Big E to become the new WWE Champion.

As reported earlier, there was speculation that Big E was originally set to win the WWE Title match until Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19. WWE On Fox’s Twitter account accidentally tweeted out the match results for Day 1. Right under Brock Lesnar’s graphic, the results showed Big E winning the match, thereby proving he was supposed to win the match originally. Obviously, the graphic was deleted in quick fashion.

We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Big E as it is likely he will get a rematch for the WWE Championship.
