Seth Rollins’ current obnoxious heel character never fails to annoy fans. On top of that, Rollins really doesn’t do scripted promos as such, just like Roman Reigns. The former WWE Champion hasn’t been around recently due to testing positive for COVID-19, but WWE is working under the idea that he will be at the pay-per-view on Saturday.
The Messiah of Drip made his way to Monday Night RAW in October and has been a thorn on everyone’s side since then. The Messiah is also quite outspoken as he lets everyone know what he thinks.
As reported earlier, Roman Reigns was pulled from the event but the cause was not known. Seth Rollins previously revealed his own positive test for COVID-19 as well.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is currently going with the assumption that talents such as Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch and others will be able to work the Day 1 pay-per-view on January 1st. That goes for all Superstars who have missed recent television shows.
They’re going with the assumption that Seth is gonna be there, they’re still advertising him. They’re going with the assumption that Becky Lynch is gonna be there. They’re going with the assumption Bianca Belair will be there, Lashley, Zelina. People who weren’t on TV or at any of the house shows, Nakamura and Woods are the ones who were all absent from the shows, but they were advertised so something’s up with them. Liv Morgan, we don’t know. Kofi Kingston and Erik were on the first nights of the tour, but they were not on last night’s show. I don’t know what the situation is with them. Erik, of the Viking Raiders. So, and then last night there was a whole bunch of them on NXT. Dexter Lumis, GiGi Dolin, Jacey Jayne, and Brian Kendrick, there’s probably others I’m forgetting. The theory is that [they will be back for New Year’s Evil and Day 1].
Its like the early days, it’s very much, ‘we don’t know.’ Everything is subject to change.”
WWE has already changed up their COVID-19 policies when it comes to quarantines, so we will have to wait and see whether all the aforementioned Superstars will be able to make it in time for the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view.
