Miro made his AEW debut as The Best Man, but God’s Favorite Champion hasn’t been seen for a while. It turns out that he is off television for a reason.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Miro has battled a hamstring injury in recent memory. The former TNT Champion has only wrestled twice since losing his title on September 29th, but neither of those matches were planned.
The former Rusev hasn’t wrestled since Full Gear, and fans certainly miss having him on AEW television. Both of those matches that Miro worked since dropping the TNT Title were a change of plans. He also wrestled those contests while injured.
Miro served as Jon Moxley’s replacement in the World Title Eliminator, taking on Orange Cassidy and Bryan Danielson on November 3 and 13, respectively. Fightful learned that during that period, Miro was working with an injured hamstring, which is why his leg was taped up during the matches.
Miro loves pro wrestling and will obviously give a lot for the artform. Hopefully, he won’t have to wrestle injured the next time he makes his way to the ring. Fans are also still holding out hope that his wife CJ Perry will eventually join him in Tony Khan’s company. We can only imagine that Miro’s hamstring issue is keeping that plan from going down, if it is in the pipeline.
