AEW’s inception came about at Double Or Nothing 2019 and since then, the company has done all it could to provide a product that true lovers of pro wrestling would enjoy. For the most part, they have succeeded, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
For the past year or so, AEW has hired several former WWE Superstars including the likes of Malakai Black, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Adam Cole and many more. Some fans are upset with AEW signing former WWE Superstars.
Even in the last couple of weeks, AEW has managed to hire Kyle O’Reilly and on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite – Mercedes Martinez. As revealed by a Twitter account, AEW has signed 30 new stars in 2021 including Martinez.
With Mercedes Martinez joining AEW tonight, that makes a total of 30 new signings in AEW in 2021. What a mind-blowing roster Tony Khan has built!
Out of those 30 signees, 6 are female. Also, 14 of those signees were fresh off of a WWE contract in some form or fashion.
AEW President Tony Khan also recently admitted that he needs to be more discerning with AEW signings from now on. It remains to be seen what plans Tony Khan has in store for fans in the coming months.
