The Miz is definitely one of the most popular and decorated WWE Superstars in the history of the company. On top of winning several championships in the company, The Miz also has his own reality show and acted in movies. All of that experience in WWE got him some serious face-time with Vince McMahon.

The A-Lister has also main evented WrestleMania once in his career. The Miz had a very rocky start to his WWE career and many believed he would get fired soon enough. However, he persevered and became one of the mainstays of the company.

The Miz was one of the first guests on Freddie Prinze Jr’s Wrestling with Freddy podcast. He spoke about a variety of issues, including the A-lister cutting a promo in Vince McMahon’s face during promo class. The following are some of the highlights from the interview.

“Promo class started with like me and six other people and Vince as the teacher. You’re petrified like ‘oh my God’ because Vince is your teacher. Vince was like, ‘everyone get a promo for next week. You’ll cut it in front of the class and tell about your character.’ I like to go off the cuff. When I feel challenged, I don’t want to write it all down, I want to have bullet points in my head. A lot of people had their script and were memorizing. Vince saved me for last. Five people went before me and then I was called. I had this tea and tiny straw. I took a sip and was like, ‘Now you have all talked, it’s time for me to talk.’ Literally, I ripped everyone apart and then I went and got in Vince’s face and started cutting a promo on him.”

Vince approached him after class and said that he knew The Miz could finish it strong and good as he was totally engrossed in it. The following week, he cut a promo, almost the same promo outside the locker room. Some people felt it was the best commercial he’d ever done.
