WWE doesn’t have the best track record in the world when it comes to how they treat their talent. With a handful of exceptions, the majority of wrestlers wind up attempting to bury the company after they are released or fired. It seems that everybody is promised the world, but very few ever take delivery on that promise.
One of the ongoing jokes in the internet wrestling community are the incessant “Veer is coming” vignettes that have been airing since the Fall on WWE Raw. Many fans believed that WWE had to be pulling fans’ legs at some point. That ultimately does appear to be the case. They’ve even taken the joke fully meta by incorporating a meme from rival AEW.
Sean Sapp reported via Fightful Select that there are no plans for Veer. He has been at Raw weekly. He’s wrestled on several episodes of main event. The company just thinks the drawn out tease is funny.
“WWE sources we spoke to said that WWE officials have generally thought he had the most upside of either of his pairings, whether it be with Saurav or Shanky.
Fightful was told that as of the time the videos began airing there were no “significant creative plans in place for Veer or his debut.” We’re not sure if that has changed since then, but we’re also told by WWE sources they are self aware of the comedic nature behind stretching this out..”
WWE has been hyping the debut of Veer as a self-aware joke for several months. There is no word on whether Veer is in on that joke. Even if he is, he can’t be happy with the way he’s being presented. It will be hard to overcome “joke” status if he ever does pop up on the show.
