Hook, who is the son of AEW commentator and former ECW and WWE star Taz, has been featured on AEW television as the silent enforcer of Team Taz. Many fans never thought he would ever wrestle. It seems Taz defended his son recently as well.

Hook’s impressive in-ring debut even resulted in Hook blowing up on social media and his debut racked up larger numbers than even Bron Breakker’s did. AEW held off his debut for a good reason as well.

Hook had his second match on AEW Rampage where he faced off against Bear Bronson of Bear Country. During the match, Hook no-sold a Rikishi Driver from Bronson. He would go on to win the match in three minutes.

Hook was criticized for not selling the move and because of that, Taz took to Twitter and hit back at the criticism. He shared a clip of a match between Tiger Mask and Bret Hart, where Mask didn’t sell a punch from Bret Hart.

“Wait, so the wrestler in the mask “no sold” (I think that’s the inside term that hasn’t been inside for years) the punch by the bigger wrestler without the mask? So that KILLED the wrestling business right?

The AEW roster was also ecstatic about Hook’s in-ring debut. Fans also believe Hook will become world champion in AEW someday. It remains to be seen what is next in store for Hook now that he has already impressed many within the company.
