WWE has recently released a lot of wrestlers from their contracts in the hopes of bringing in new talent. Now, it seems that karma has come back to bite the promotion, as they’re dealing with a shortage of wrestlers.
Following last weekend’s event, WWE has been dealing with a COVID outbreak, that has incapacitated a lot of key WWE stars. Currently, the promotion is hoping that those who have the virus or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive will be cleared in time for the Day 1 event.
As a result, the promotion has been trying to fill the gaps by bringing in NXT talent. WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa vs. Pete Dunne has been added to the post-Christmas tour event at Madison Square Garden.
In addition, the MSG show is also set to feature WWE Champion Big E vs. Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens and WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair in steel cage matches.
The RAW brand has been affected most severely by the outbreak. Here’s hoping that all stars affected by the outbreak make a full and speedy recovery. Check out the following tweet.
