WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is regarded as one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever competed inside the squared circle. However, he wasn’t always as successful as Austin made his WWE debut as the Ringmaster. It seems there was a reason why fans identified with him.
Steve Austin ushered in the Attitude Era and became the face of the company. His feuds with the likes of The Rock, Triple H and more helped define a generation. Kane also believes his rise to superstardom was an accident.
While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross talked about how Stone Cold Steve Austin was able to make fans identity with him and how it helped him become such a huge name in the company.
“I can tell you with this guy named Stone Cold Steve Austin started breaking the glass. So he ignited a style, a vibe. And that look then identified with success and toughness two traits that men love. There’s only probably one or two things in life you want more than success and love.”
After a directionless Ringmaster gimmick, Austin pitched his iconic gimmick and went on to singlehandedly usher in the Attitude Era in WWE. The rest is simply history.
