Professional wrestling is one of the industries where fans can sadly see their heroes gone too soon. Tragedy has showed up on the doorstep of so many great superstars of the past before their time. It never gets easier, no matter how many times it happens. This is a time when fans remember Mr. Brodie Lee as we lost him one year ago today.
For Brodie Lee (real name Jon Huber), things were different. Huber enjoyed an excellent run in WWE as Luke Harper. He had just signed with AEW and was on a direct path towards the main event. He passed away tragically due to a non-wrestling related and non-COVID related health issue on December 26, 2020.
Since then, Brodie’s wife and son, Amanda and Brodie Jr. have become integral members of the AEW family. The legacy of Lee lives on in the Dark Order faction that he led. Fans remember the brawler as one of their all-time favorites. Today, Twitter celebrated the life and career of Brodie Lee with the hashtag #BrodieLeeForever.
“Sending much love to @MandaLHuber Brodie Jr (-1), Nolan, The Dark Order, and the rest of the Huber Family”
“Everything that needs to be said has been said over this last year. One year on it still feels as depressingly cruel as it did then. Rest easy ‘Big Rig'”
“It’s hard to believe that today marks one year since u left us.. We have the pleasure to watch one of the biggest wrestlers of all time as Luke Harper or Brodie Lee. Wherever u are Jon. Rest In Peace”
Brodie Lee was a family man who gave his all to the wrestling business. His life and work will forever be remembered by fans who were there. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Huber family and all of Brodie’s loved ones as we remember his amazing legacy.
