Sting shocked the world when he made his debut in AEW last year in December. Since then he has been featured heavily on AEW television being paired up with Darby Allin. Many AEW stars want a piece of Sting, including Paul Wight.
Despite being over 60, Sting certainly has been competing at an unexpectedly high level and that has certainly impressed fans and pro wrestlers alike.
Sting debuted in WWE back at Survivor Series 2014 and had a handful of matches before having to retire due to an injury he suffered during a match with Seth Rollins. Many fans felt Sting simply did not have a good run in WWE whatsoever.
At AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash, Sting teamed up with Darby Allin and CM Punk as they faced MJF and FTR in a 6-man tag team match. Sting was incredible in the match was he even performed a top rope dive to the outside.
The show managed to garner over 1 million viewership and fans attributed Sting for its success. Ric Flair took to Twitter and seemingly took a shot at WWE for misusing Sting as well.
Congratulations @Sting! I’ve Been Telling The World, When You’re Great You’ll Always Get A Rating! Everyone Else Can Dare To Dream! WOOOOO! You Just Became At The Age Of 62, The MVP Of @AEW!
Even Tony Khan criticized WWE for misusing Sting. Sting will remain one of the mainstays of AEW television for a long time as he will certainly stick with the company for years and end his career in AEW.
