Austin Theory has been engaged in a storyline with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon ever since Survivor Series concluded last month. It also featured him getting slapped by Vince McMahon. It seems Jim Cornette is not a fan of Austin Theory’s current booking in WWE.
Theory has had a worthwhile run on the main roster so far, as he defeated Jeff Hardy, faced Big E for the WWE Championship and is now involved in a storyline with Vince McMahon.
While speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette talked about Austin Theory’s current storyline with Vince McMahon. Cornette criticized the storyline for not necessarily doing any favors for Austin Theory.
“So now Vince likes his spunk and so now he is doing recurring things with Vince. I saw this clip where Austin Theory is doing everything he can with what he has been given to work with, but he is sitting there and having to react to things that Vince is saying rather than saying his own sh*t.
And therein lies the problem, he is just sitting there with Vince and nodding when Vince does what you are doing. You sound clearer than he does.”
Tommy Dreamer also recently urged Austin Theory to not blow his opportunity in WWE. It remains to be whether Theory will truly benefit from his storyline with Vince McMahon or not.
