Moose, the current Impact World Champion, claims he had the opportunity to sign with WWE. He however opted to stay with Impact Wrestling and turned down WWE’s offer. He believes that he isn’t finished with his achievements in Impact Wrestling, so there was more to do.
Impact signed Moose to a new two-year contract earlier this year. He just spoke with Metro UK‘s Alistair McGeorge and stated that WWE was interested in him. Moose explained why he chose to remain with Impact over taking a chance with Vince McMahon’s company.
“It was definitely a hard decision. As much as I love Impact and I love everything Impact was doing, I also wanted to see what else was out there. I had a chance to go to WWE but ultimately I decided that my time in Impact wasn’t done. There was things I needed to accomplish that I haven’t accomplished yet. It wouldn’t have been fair on myself, or it wouldn’t be fair on the company, if I left so soon without accomplishing those other things. Ultimately, that was my reason for staying.”
Moose also mentioned that one of the reasons he re-signed with Impact was the creative flexibility. Wrestlers in Impact are able to pitch and develop their own ideas, according to him. Moose believes a lot of wrestlers choose Impact over AEW or WWE because of that freedom.
On Saturday, January 8 in Dallas, TX, Moose will defend his title against W. Morrissey and Matt Cardona in a Triple Threat match at the Impact Hard To Kill pay-per-view.
