Baron Corbin had a pretty eventful year on-screen, oscillating between highs and lows. The wrestler has had several changes made to his gimmick, complete with aesthetic overhauls. One look brought Vince McMahon to become very insistent.

Corbin recently spoke to Ryan Satin of “Out of Character,” and revealed that a lot of these changes were decided upon on the fly. However, it seems like this spontaneity is something that worked well for his character.

While recalling one such incident, Corbin talked about the time his sad Corbin kept getting extended, and at one point he received a late night text from McMahon himself.

The worst part was not being able to cut the hair or the beard. I get a text message at like 2 A.M. from Vince. It’s like, “Don’t shave or cut your hair” and I’m going, okay, where’s this going.

Corbin revealed that he expected that the Sad Corbin gimmick would last for about two weeks. However, it turned out to be a lot more entertaining than expected, and Corbin himself started to have a lot of fun with it.

Happy Corbin’s gimmick has gone another overhaul since, and he is back to being completely happy alongside Madcap Moss, on SmackDown. Check out the interview below.
