Bret Hart had a career in professional wrestling that led him to become a national hero in his native Canada. He has also never been shy about sharing his opinion on other wrestlers. Sometimes he is willing to put people over that he’s never even worked with.

After being inducted to the Canadian Walk of Fame recently, The Hitman had a lot of people to thank. Among them were those who helped him along the way such as his father, Stu Hart, and the legends of the territory days and his early career with WWE.

Bret also gave a shoutout to younger Canadian wrestlers who he believes are carrying on his legacy. Hart name dropped several stars from north of the border in a recent Instagram post. He provided a list of several who he believes should someday receive the same honor he did.

“While sadly this was cut out of my speech due to time constraints, I do want to say thank you to each and every wrestler I ever worked with. Thank you to the many Canadian wrestlers that paved the way for me: my father Stu, Gene Kiniski, Abdullah the Butcher, “Killer” Kowalski, “The Stomper”, Ed Carpentier, “Whipper” Watson, Sky Low Low, Rocky Johnson, Pat Patterson, Roddy Piper.

To the many other Canadian wrestlers, some that filled my shoes after my career ended, that someday will deserve this same honour: Chris Jericho, Edge, Trish Stratus, Kevin Owens, Kenny Omega, my niece Natalya, my brother Owen, and so many more.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!”

Kevin Owens said he was humbled and honored by even being mentioned by Bret Hart. He sent his congratulations via Twitter. Owens recently signed a new multi-year deal with WWE. He hopes to make the Hitman proud.

Bret Hart is never one to mince his words. Getting a shout out of this nature is a major honor coming from one of the best to ever lace up the boots. Even in his time of triumph, Hart made sure to do his best to make the present and the future of the business he loves look good.
