Sami Zayn Would Just Be Another Name If He Signed With AEW Says Former WWE Manager

Sami Zayn has established himself as one of the mainstays of Friday Night Smackdown after changing his gimmick to a conspiracy theorist. Zayn continues to get props for his terrific in-ring skills and work rate. It seems a former WWE manager doesn’t think he should go to AEW.

Sami Zayn’s contact status in WWE was under question after Kevin Owens’ teased on numerous occasions that he would reunite with The Young Bucks in AEW. However, Owens decided to stay with WWE as he signed a multi-year deal with the company.

While speaking on Smack Talk, former WWE manager Dutch Mantell talked about Sami Zayn possibly making his way to AEW. Mantell explained that Zayn shouldn’t go to AEW as he would simply be just another name there and nothing more.

“I would want him to stay with WWE because I do not believe AEW even discovered Sami Zayn. We know what he can do in his interviews. When you send him out there, he makes the best out of what is given to him. I think if he goes to AEW, he would be just another name on a long list. He might make money there, but not actually do anything there. You only got so many slots.”

Sami Zayn might have already signed another contract with WWE following Kevin Owens’ re-signing as well. Regardless, it is likely Sami Zayn will stay in WWE for a long time.
