Paul Heyman Nearly Got In Fight With The Rock’s Writer Backstage In WWE

Paul Heyman is one of the most well-known and established names in the pro wrestling world. He is touted as one of the greatest minds to have ever been seen in the business. It seems he nearly had a fight as well.

Heyman is certainly one of the best talkers on the microphone and has helped elevate many Superstars he has worked with over the years and that includes Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and others.

While speaking on Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru show, Jim Cornette talked about The Rock and his former writer in WWE, Brian Gewirtz. Cornette recalled the time Gewirtz and Paul Heyman almost got into a fight backstage in WWE.

“I guess The Rock) loves that Brian Gewirtz character, the comedy writer. Everybody has a flaw and The Rock likes the comedy writer. I still wish I could see video of the screaming fight that Gewirtz and Heyman got into, where everybody was like, ‘Please let them fight, please let them fight. We got to see this.’ It was about wrestling because Gewirtz is a comedy writer – whether you like him or not, everybody is on different sides of that fence – Heyman is a wrestling personality. So, I could see that being enough.”

Paul Heyman was also fired by Roman Reigns as his Special Councel on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. We will have to wait and see how his storyline with Reigns and Brock Lesnar progresses.
