Tony Khan is never shy about speaking out when he needs to have his voice heard. He is also very fond of television ratings, especially AEW’s viewership. This caused him to set the record straight once again.
FOX News Sports Editor Ryan Gaydos published an opinion article, in which he outlined AEW’s rating for the first half of this month. The article claimed that Tony Khan has “had a rough first 15 days of December between [their] business with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the family’s venture into professional wrestling with All Elite Wrestling.”
The claims made in the article were with regards to the fact that Khan’s NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars fired head coach Urban Meyer earlier this week. As for AEW, Gaydos noted that AEW’s Dynamite and Rampage shows have dropped in the ratings, despite significant signings.
As things move into the new year, the Jaguars will be back at square one with a high draft pick and in need of a new coach for the 2022 season. AEW will look to build upon some of the momentum it gained toward the end of 2021.
Tony Khan, however, did not seem to see eye to eye with Gaydos and his report. Khan took to Twitter to respond to the comments made in the opinion piece, by stating that AEW Dynamite has beaten every single FOX News program recently.
Hey @FoxNews it’s amusing hearing you opining about @AEW ratings considering #AEWDynamite on Wednesday has beaten EVERY single @FoxNews show for 6 straight weeks!
Khan also included the ratings charts to back up his claim. However, it seems that Khan was referring to the key demo ratings, since FOX News programs seem to have Dynamite beaten by a wide margin in viewership.
It certainly seems like Gaydos’ article rubbed Tony the wrong way, since he felt compelled to make three consecutive tweets in response to it. Check out TOny’s tweets below.
