Sami Zayn is possibly the last of the latest batch of WWE free agents whose status remains a mystery. Kevin Owens signed a huge deal to stay with the company for several years. Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly’s contracts have expired, and they are moving on.

Sami’s contract expires in 2022. He’s been with WWE for eight years now. Fans believe he’d be a natural fit in All Elite Wrestling.

According to Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE fans may be in for yet another surprise. He reported that Zayn might have already followed his old friend KO and signed a new WWE contract. Wrestlers in the locker room have been hearing rumors that he has.

” …there has also been locker room talk that Sami Zayn (Rami Sebei, 37) did [re-sign with WWE] as well, but WWE sources have not confirmed Zayn having signed to us yet.”

Until the report is confirmed this information should be treated as mere rumor and speculation. It is interesting that the wrestlers themselves are hearing that Zayn has re-signed. If the news is confirmed, it will be another major victory for WWE in their talent war with AEW.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have a relationship that dates to their early days in professional wrestling. KO signing for big money will likely work as a bargaining chip in Zayn’s favor. If he is offered the same kind of cash, Sami would have to think very hard about walking away.
