Rick Boogs Wants To Prove Chris Jericho Wrong About Changing His Name In WWE

Rick Boogs was previously known as Eric Bugenhagen in WWE. However, he was then called up to the main roster as he made his debut on Friday Night Smackdown back in May and immediately started being paired with Shinsuke Nakamura.

Earlier this year, Chris Jericho shared his thoughts about Rick Boogs. While Jericho acknowledged that Boogs certainly has talent, he simply couldn’t; see how Boogs would ever get over because of his ridiculous name.

While speaking Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport, Rick Boogs responded to what Chris Jericho said. While he was grateful for the praise, Boogs also made it clear that he wanted to prove Jericho wrong and get over despite his name.

I was definitely happy for the most part, and then the only thing that was negative was you’re saying that Rick Boogs was gonna hold me back that name and I accept that as a challenge. Because I don’t think so. I think Rick Boogs is gonna, it’s gonna get way more over in a sense. I think I take that as, ‘Let’s see what we can do with this name [of] Rick Boogs.’ As of right now.

Rick Boogs also revealed that he had never met Shinsuke Nakamura prior to his entrance with Nakamura and their pairing remains one of the highlights of Friday Night Smackdown.
