Owen Hart was a legend who was taken from us far before his time. Now AEW is planning a tournament to honor his legacy and new details are emerging.

The Owen Hart Cup Tournament will be an annual tradition for the company. AEW is set to hold a men’s and a women’s tournament for the inaugural Owen Hart Cup event.

AEW President, CEO, General Manager & Head Of Creative Tony Khan made a guest appearance on Busted Open Radio today. During his time on the show, he revealed that there will be two separate tournaments of singles matches for the Owen Hart Cup.

The plan is to put on a tournament for the men’s division and women’s division. The date and venue for the Owen Hart Cup tournaments is yet to be declared. It will be announced during tonight’s AEW Rampage episode on TNT.

During a September interview with Busted Open, Tony Khan stated that his conversations with Martha Hart took over a year. Both parties had put a lot of thought into their partnership. The Owen Hart Cup will be a great opportunity to celebrate the late Canadian pro wrestling legend’s life.
